Q: What about the finish on your cabinets?  Is it durable?  Is it safe for the environment?

A: We use a waterborne, acrylic emulsion polymer that produces a clear, highly durable finish.  It dries to a tough water and alcohol resistant surface.  It has high build characteristics and allows for a thick, impact resistant coat.  It is a non-flammable, low odor product that lends itself well to occupied sites.  It is a low VOC (volatile organic compound), HAP’s (hazardous air pollutant) free, formaldehyde free product that protects not only the end user, but also the personnel applying the finish.  The product earns the highest durability ratings from the KCMA and therefore exceeds their requirements.

Q: How green is your cabinetry?

A: All of our materials are Carb One compliant and most of our hard and soft woods come from sustainable resources.  Our finish is the greenest available.  All of our wood and paper waste is recycled.  Due to the location of our manufacturing plant within 100 miles of the majority of our market, our carbon footprint is smaller than many of our competitors that import their cabinets from out of the area.

Q: What about the quality of your cabinets?  How are they manufactured?

A: We use only select grade materials in our custom products including doors, panels, and solid stock.  We have modern CNC machinery that insures that materials are accurately cut and milled.  All of our face frame cabinetry is blind nailed eliminating facial putty.  Our Euro frameless cabinets are assembled using confirmat fasteners allowing for a strongly constructed cabinet.  We use only 5/8” and 3/4” material for divisions and shelves compared to the 3/8” & 1/2" that many of our competitors use.  This results in a much more durable cabinet.

Q: What is the difference between custom and modular and why is one better than the other?

A: Modular cabinets are manufactured in 3” increments and in limited sizes and configurations.  It many times results in applied filler stiles to allow cabinets to fit in defined spaces.  Custom cabinets are built to fit the space exactly, therefore eliminating the need to apply fillers.  Custom cabinets give the designer and builder much more flexibility in creating the look and functionality the customer desires.  All of our cabinets are custom built.

Q: What is the advantage of locally manufactured cabinets as opposed to cabinets imported from out of state or country?

A: The advantages are many.  Lead time is much less, usually 3 to 4 weeks after design approval; replacement parts come more quickly, resulting in quicker job completion; carbon footprint is less; employees are local, benefiting the regional economy.

Q: What about the installation of your cabinets?  What advantages can you offer?

A: We install everything that we manufacture with our own in house installers.  The advantages are many.  Our installers come from a tradition of excellence and pride.  They all are skilled craftsmen and most have worked for us for many years.  They know the value of completing a job to the customer’s satisfaction.  Their work is regularly inspected by our installation superintendent as it must meet exacting standards.  We service all of our jobs with skilled pickup personnel.  Many of our competitors subcontract their installation and that gives them much less control over the quality of their end product.
